Air Travel Returns to Windsor International Airport

YQG Inc. (Windsor International Airport) is pleased to announce the return of air service to the Windsor area with Air Canada resuming service on September 8, 2020 with two flights per day to Toronto Pearson International Airport. The main terminal will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. beginning September 8 with hours to change depending on service expansion.

“While the pandemic has significantly impacted the aviation sector, the resumption of air service to Windsor International Airport is an important step for the recovery process, and we welcome back Air Canada wholeheartedly,” said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens, also the Chair of the YQG Board.

“We look forward to our continued partnership with Air Canada. They are an important airline partner for YQG, our patrons and the community,” added YQG CEO Mark Galvin.

“Air Canada is looking forward to resuming service between Windsor and Toronto. We are also encouraged by the hard work of Mark Galvin and his team to ensure the safety of passengers and staff, alike. This is an excellent example of how our industry can safely resume operations and how a community can reopen to trade and tourism in the Covid-19 era,” said Ferio Pugliese, Senior Vice President, Air Canada Express and Government Affairs.

Passengers can expect to see some changes to the main terminal, which now include barriers at counters; dedicated entrance and exit doors; and an increase in hand sanitization stations. Passengers are also reminded that face coverings must be worn to board an aircraft and also within the airport terminal. YQG urges only ticketed passengers to enter the terminal area.
