PRESS RELEASE Unveiling of Wireless Charging Technology at Windsor International Airport Windsor, Ont., December 10, 2010 - The Honourable Sandra Pupatello (Ontario Minister of Economic Development & Trade) and Mr. David Haffner (CEO Leggett & Platt, Incorporated) are presiding over a special technology unveiling at the Windsor International Airport at 11:00am, a 'world first'.

 

We will witness the first public installation of wireless charging according to the global standard (qi). The global standard, just released to the public on August 31, 2010 at a ceremony in Beijing, China is the final enabler the world needed. A crucial link is now in place to proceed with wireless charging worldwide .in homes, automobiles, offices, airports.everywhere we go each day.

 

How would you have felt to see the first cell phone in the world come to life by being plugged into a public wall socket?

 

Today we will witness the modern day version of such an historic event. The first installation comes to the Windsor International Airport. The global standard (qi) will help this convenience spread quickly around the world.
